How to Use StableVitals
Step 1: Create an Initial Record
1. Log In: Use your Google account to access StableVitals.
2. Navigate to Add Record: Click the New Record button on the dashboard.
3. Fill in Horse Information:
- Horse Name: Enter the horse's name.
- Date: Select the date of the record.
- Time of Day: Choose Morning, Afternoon, or Evening.
- Handler: Enter the handler's name.
4. Add Observations: Describe the issue (e.g., swelling, limping) in the Observation field.
5. Add Initial Treatment:
- Describe the treatment administered (e.g., cold compress).
- Check Vet Called if applicable.
6. Define Follow-Up Protocol: Enter specific care instructions (e.g., "Apply wound dressing daily").
7. Set a Reminder: Select a follow-up timeframe (e.g., 1-hour, 4-hour).
8. Save Record: Click Save Record to complete the entry.
Step 2: View and Manage Records
1. Access Records: Go to the Records tab to view a list of your horse's records.
2. Select a Record: Click on a specific record to view detailed information, including past observations and treatments.
Step 3: Update an Existing Record
1. Open the Record: Click on the record you want to update.
2. Review Existing Observations and Treatments: Past entries are displayed for context.
3. Add a New Observation: Use the New Observation field to record updates.
4. Add a New Treatment: Enter new treatments administered.
5. Review Follow-Up Protocol: The original protocol is displayed for reference (non-editable).
6. Set Additional Reminders: Use the reminder buttons for follow-up care.
7. Save Updates: Click Update Record to save changes.
Tips for Using StableVitals
- Be Consistent: Record observations and treatments regularly to monitor progress.
- Use Reminders: Leverage reminders for time-sensitive tasks like colic checks or medication schedules.
- Be Descriptive: Provide clear and detailed notes in the observation and treatment fields.
- Collaborate: Share records with your vet or handlers to ensure everyone is on the same page.
